Habitat & Territoires ConseilL'Union sociale pour l’habitat (USH, une confédération des fédérations de sociétés françaises de logement ayant son siège social à PARIS) a été fondée en 1925, elle réunit au sein de sa fédération environ 820 sociétés de logement social.

Certaines de ses sociétés gèrent plus de 4.000.000 logements en location et elles construisent chaque année 60.000 nouveaux locaux destinés à la location. D’autres ont construit et vendu au total 1.400.000 logements.
Les membres directs de l’Union sociale pour l’habitat sont: « Les Offices publics de l’Habitat », « Les Entreprises Sociales pour l’Habitat », « La Chambre syndicale des Sociétés Anonymes de Crédits immobiliers de France », « La Fédération Nationale des Sociétés Coopératives d’Hlm » et la « La Fédération nationale des Associations Régionales ».
L'Union sociale pour l’habitat est à l’origine de la fondation du CECODHAS (Comité européen de coordination de l'habitat social) qui associe les fédérations européennes des sociétés de logement social.
