NIHE The Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) is, at the same time :

the Regional Housing Authority for Northern Ireland with a responsibility to improve housing conditions across all tenures
the Home Energy Conservation Authority for Northern Ireland with a target to improve energy efficiency across all tenures
a major social housing landlord with over 90,000 dwellings.

It carries out its responsibilities through major improvement schemes to its own stock and through providing financial grants to eligible home owners to help meet the costs of improving their dwellings.
